Abstract: PHOSPHOLIPINS IN SEEDS 2185 them by the addition of sodium hydroxide resulted in precipitation of the free base. This acidity was responsible for the hyperemia and marked irritation which were noted with all of the compounds, and possibly tended to shorten the duration of the anesthesia because of the excessive lacrimation. It is hoped that further modification of the structure will eliminate this objectionable feature.
