Step 1: Configure
- Go to Settings > Apps in ChatGPT
- Click "Create app"
- Enter the server URL below and select OAuth as the auth mechanism
Requires a paid ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, or Team).

The Scite MCP provides access to all academic literature - including metadata, Smart Citation context, and access options across both open and closed access sources. For open access articles, full text is available directly. For closed access sources, full text is available if you have the rights, and access instructions are always provided - whether that's proxy access via OpenURL through a LibKey or GetFTR integration, inter-library loan options, or purchasing through Article Galaxy.
